Canoe expedition, in the further north river of Portugal, between two beautiful border towns: Valencia and Melgaço. This is a thrilling expedition, due to the surrounding beauty of the river and the excitement of the rapids in the first two days.

Description: Canoe expedition in the International river Minho, where the left riverbank is Portuguese and the right riverbank is Spanish.  

River Minho is restless and full of emotion. The first two days have countless rapids and different water levels and in the last two days we take advantage of the calmer sectors of the river to admire the outstanding and unusual beauty of the riverbanks and the monuments built along the river, like the medieval castles of Melgaço, Lapela and Castro Laboreiro and the fortresses of Monção and Valença, as well as Romanesque and Baroque churches, the Manor house ''Alvarinho'', where participants will taste the nectar of the gods and the Rural Museum of Castro Laboreiro.

The expedition ends in Valença, a town inside a 17th century fortress, one of the jewels of the Portuguese military architecture.

It takes an average of 8 to 22 Km per day. During the route, participants are accompanied by accredited monitors. This expedition has 4 sectors, one of them is a white water rafting sector.

The program includes cultural visits to Castro Laboreiro, where the Castro culture is still very present, a close contact with the local cuisine (roasted veal or young goat with chestnuts) and the ''Alvarinho'' tasting, the best ''vinho verde'' in Portugal.
